“Video conference on Covid-19 with Chinese experts on integrated Chinese and western medicine and Brazilian medical experts” sponsored by WFAS, coordinated by our Confucius institute, was held on Aug. 20th. Chen Peijie, Consul General of China in Sao Paulo, Brazil，Yang Longhui, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Chinese Medical Science (CACMS) and Edward Madureira Brasil, President of the Federal University of Gioas（FUG）, made speeches. President Gao Weijuan and vice president Zhang Mingli of our university attended the meeting. The Director of our International Office, foreign president of Confucius Institute of Chinese medicine of FUG Francis Jos é Quaresma de figureiredo, teachers and students of our university and FUG, and medical experts from universities in Brazil also attended the meeting.
Zhang Boli (Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Prinipal of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine), WFAS Chairman Liu Baoyan (Principal Investigator of CACMS), Li Guangxi (member of expert group of Covid-19 by National Health Commission, Director of Pulmonary Division, Guang Anmen Hospital),Claci F TIMA Weirich, President of FUG Nursing School and other Chinese and Brazilian medical experts made academic reports and shared their Covid-19 experience in their respective fields. Application of Chinese medicine in Covid-19 diagnosis and treatment and international joint action mechanism on Covid-19 initiated heated discussion among the experts. The meeting, which should be ended at 22:00, was extended for more than an hour.
The event broadened teachers and students academic horizons, and expanded international impact of our school and our Confucius Institute. It provided a Chinese plan on Covid-19 for Brazilian people, promoted overseas communication of Chinese medicine and deepened the friendship between Chinese and Brazil peoples.
